"ASTM" Interface

Every Sofia 2 has a standard interface that is included within the instrument.

Setup the ASTM LIS interface

Within all Sofia 2 instruments, an ASTM interface is included. This ASTM interface is configured by setting the LIS Settings.

Set LIS Parameters

Based upon the recommendation of the LIS Coordinator or LIS Vendor:

1. Set the LIS Address to the IP address of the external System.

2. Set the Port Number that the external System is listening for Sofia 2 to initiate a connection.

3. Set Auto Send to On for results to automatically transmit to the external System after each test completes.

4. Select the checkmark to save and return to the Run Test screen.

The Sofia 2 ASTM interface sends results to the LIS using the protocol for uni-directional communication in the Sofia 2 LIS specification listed under the Interface Specifications link.
